(PHIG)

The Public Health Interest Group (PHIG) serves as an organization through which medical students can gain knowledge of and discuss public health concerns, participate in public health outreach projects and interact with public health students and professionals in the Mailman School of Public Health. Its goals are: to serve as a forum for discussion of public health issues including minority health and health disparities, international health, urban and rural community health, environmental health and maternal and children’s health; to act as a liaison between student organizations in the Mailman School of Public Health and the medical student community; to function as a resource for medical students interested in pursuing a Masters in Public Health degree; and to design public health initiatives through which medical students can provide outreach to surrounding communities.
